Clarity. Help. Hope. The taking into custody institution.
Taking into custody basically has a double mandate: Protection and clarification of perspective.
Children and adolescents, who are usually taken into custody out of highly charged and critical situations must be given the feeling of security and protection.
Stabilization and calming of the physical and mental state are very important. At the same time, the clarification of perspective must begin as soon as possible.
Since taking into custody is only a temporary offer and a transit station, the organization of clarification of prospects is closely linked to protection and security function from the start. The institution takes on central functions and tasks that result from its specific personnel and conceptional competence in its proximity to the children. This is done of course in close coordination with the public agency responsible for child services and if necessary and possible with the legal guardian.
